The Eastern Trail

This trail begins at the last Villa (S13) and encircles the Island through tropical forest and sandy beaches until you arrive back at Long Beach.

  • Explore the wild flora and fauna of Tengah Island with over 200 native plant species and natural rock formations. 

  • See the stunning viewpoints overlooking the South China Sea and nearby islands. 

  • Observe and appreciate the wildlife that inhabits the jungle. 

  • Visit the remnants of the old Vietnamese refugee camp. 

  • Attractive Plant: Rattan, Screwpine, Cashew nut, Tongkat Ali, Podocarpus sp., Nibong, Belinjau, Rhododendron (senduduk), Mentigi, Arachnis bakmoena, Angsana, Cinnamon. Etc 

  • Attractive (high possibility to observe) wildlife: Land Crab, Black-naped Tern, Olive-winged Bulbul, Magpie Robin, White-bellied Sea Eagle, Golden Orb Weaver Spider.

The Western Trail

Beginning at Batu Batu Spa this trail cuts steeply to the middle of the island where you can find our highest viewpoint, it then runs down to the northern side until you meet the Eastern Trail at Sandbar beach.

  • Enjoy hiking in the natural shade of the island’s forest. 

  • Observe the view from two viewpoints that overlook the South China Sea and neighbouring islands.

  • Attractive wildlife: Monitor Lizard, Flying Fox, White-rumped Shama, Dollarbird, Pied Imperial Pigeon, Pink-necked Green Pigeon, Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker
